A First Person Shooter in a VR world
Battle Dome offers a simple arena setup in which you may shoot at other players. It feels very similar to what most people would call an FPS (First Person Shooter) game. The difference is that this VR game functions okay, which is unlike most others of this ilk.
A fast-paced shooter without being too brutal
Battle Dome is an online multiplayer game with an FPS setup, but the game is not too brutal. It is so difficult trying to hit people within the dimensions of a VR environment that you can last quite a while without being killed. It is not like the many free first person shooter games on the Internet where you are killed instantly by experienced players. Bounce around a little or hide and your enemies will be unable to kill your character quickly. There is also a healthy selection of weapons you can choose. If you do not wish to play online, there is a single-player version where you shoot monsters. There is also a co-op mode.
Somebody got the shooting mechanic right
Previous to this game there have been many developers try to create games with guns, but the muzzle effect, the shot dynamics, the aiming mechanics and the sounds have not been as good in combination as they are in this game. It is far from a perfect game, but it is closer to people's expectation of a First Person Shooter than most of the games created before it.
